Art Competition

This year’s Congressional Art Competition is a national contest open to current high school students from Illinois' 3rd Congressional district to showcase their artistic talents with an opportunity to display their winning art in the United States Capitol for up to one year. Eligible high school students must live in the district or attend school in the district.

The deadline to submit entries from IL-03 is Friday, April 30th.

There is no required theme, however artwork that highlights the culture and diversity of Illinois' 3rd congressional district is highly encouraged. The original artwork may include digital submissions of paintings, drawings, collages, and photography. Artwork must be completed within the the past year. It must be two-dimensional and be no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, and 4 inches deep, including the frame.

Each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution and may not violate U.S. copyright laws. Any entry that has been copied from an existing photo or image (including a painting, graphic, or advertisement), that was created by someone other than the student is a violation of the competition rules and we will not be accepted.
